Verification

Identity Verification: Confirming Who's on the Other Side

Verification is the strongest single signal in a trust score. Here's exactly what we check, and what a verified badge means when you see one.

What We Verify

Government ID

Confirms the identity behind an account matches a real, valid document.

Phone number

Confirms a working, reachable number tied to the account.

Payment method

Confirms a valid, traceable payment method is linked to the account.

How the Verification Process Works

  1. The account holder submits the relevant document or detail through a secure form.
  2. We check it against standard validity signals — not against a public database of your personal information.
  3. A verified badge is added to the profile, and it becomes part of the trust score calculation.

Why a Verified Badge Matters

Verification raises the cost of running a scam: it's much harder to disappear after a scam if your real identity, phone, or payment method is attached to the account. That's why verified identities carry more weight in a trust score than unverified ones.

A missing verification badge doesn't automatically mean someone is a scammer — plenty of legitimate sellers haven't verified yet. It does mean you're relying more on history and reports, so check their full trust score before proceeding, and follow the habits in our buyer safety guide.
